Here at Westcroft we firmly believe that no one should ever be defined by their Disability or Health Condition.
We always take a fully inclusive and diverse person-centred approach to Activities and we focus on what our residents can do rather than what they cannot do – we believe that there should never be any barriers to joining in with Activities.
We actively seek out ways to adapt them to ensure every resident that chooses to participate, can do so freely.
We promote individuality and strive to ensure each of our residents know how much they are loved, respected and appreciated for the wonderful and beautiful individuals they are.

We’ve celebrated the occasion by looking through old photographs and memorabilia pieces from our past, and talking about our memories. We’ve had chats about the Avon lady coming round, cricket games and holidays we went on. Each of our residents has their own story to tell, and it’s a real honour to be able to hear them all and be part of this chapter of their lives.
This morning we used our new puzzles from Relish, which are specifically designed to be a little easier to complete, and in turn builds our residents self esteem when they are able to finish them. The puzzles are also great reminiscing tools, depicting images of seaside holidays, beautiful landscapes we may have visited, and even the inside of a baking cupboard or tool shed at home!
